Summary/Objective

General Purpose: The Operations Supervisor, Patient Escort (Supervisor) is responsible for leading the Patient Escort team, who are responsible for transporting veteran patients, their family members, and disabled visitors to outpatient clinic appointments. The supervisor directs and maintains the efficient flow of operations in the patient escort outpatient settings, clinics, specialty clinics, and hospital servicing areas. The Supervisor shall provide service in a safe, efficient, and courteous manner to outpatient services throughout the medical facility.

Major Duties and Responsibilities: This job description is intended to cover the minimum essential duties assigned on a regular basis. The Supervisor may be asked to perform additional duties as assigned by their leader. Leadership has the right to alter or modify the duties of the position.

· Supervises, trains, mentors, and motivates the patient escort team to achieve maximum performance, teamwork, and continuous quality improvement.

· Assists in the development of departmental policies and procedures.

· Prepares and conducts departmental meetings and maintains records of attendance and orders supplies as needed.

· Sets goals for performance deadlines in ways that comply with the company’s plans and vision. Follows established departmental goals and reports on a weekly, monthly, and annual basis.

· Monitor team’s productivity and provide constructive feedback and coaching.

· Provide training to the patient escort team as required

· Receive complaints and resolve problems.

· Organize workflow and ensure that the team understand their duties or delegated tasks.

· Serves as the first contact patients have with their care.

· Is a subject matter expert on all aspects of escort functions including knowledge of the entire patient flow cycle.

· Proactively contributes to the Hospital's mission; Care, Advocate, Teach and Serve with special emphasis on our Veteran population.

· Creates and maintains staff schedules and manages operations for areas of responsibility.

· Monitors productivity and works to proactively reduce inefficiencies.

· Provides daily staffing updates to leadership and support staff members.

· Measures turnaround (transport) times via transport module software and other tools.

· Expert in transport and staff training on stretcher, wheelchair, staxi or other modes of in hospital transport.

· Assist patients with getting in and out of vehicles as well as assist with removal of wheelchairs, walkers and personal medical equipment from vehicles.

· Provides friendly and courteous customer service to all customers.

· Actively participates, communicates, and engages with valet staff and shuttle drivers to deliver the highest level of service.

· Assists in maintaining adequate availability of equipment and supplies.

· Ensure adherence to legal and company policies and procedures and undertake disciplinary actions if the need arises.

· Performs other job-related duties as required.

Qualifications and Work Experience:

· Personnel shall be at least 18 years of age and be able to perform all general duties, functions, and activities as required.

· US citizen or legal resident.

· Associate Degree preferred.

· CPR-BLS required

· 3 years of supervisory experience required in a medical environment.

· Must have experience in a Community-Based Medical Facility

· CNA/CMA/HHA

Skills or Special Abilities:

· Perform a variety of operational, clerical and patient service duties.

· Operate multiple different types of motorized beds, stretchers, and wheelchairs.

· Fluent in the English language and can read and write.

· Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to represent RG Solutions in a positive manner. - Must exhibit caring, service-oriented behaviors toward people encountered and be able to defuse emotionally charged situations.

· Apply sound judgement toward satisfying a variety of questions and problems from patients and visitors.

· Follow both oral and written directions.

· Communicate effectively with patients, family members and other hospital personnel.

· Basic math skills.
